Windows 10: Apps won’t open for domain users with administrator rights

Home / Windows 10: Apps won’t open for domain users with administrator rights

Windows 10 does not allow you to run apps like Edge with the built-in administrator account (Most likely because the administrator bypasses the UAC).
You will get this error message:

This is fine especially for work computers.

But sometimes users with an Active Directory account and local administrator rights will get this message too.

In this case, the App Store is not working properly and how might have to reset him or check if you system files are working correctly.

Reset the App Store

To reset the App store, open a command prompt with administrator rights. Click on the Windows button and type cmd. Right-click the entry and select “Run as administrator”

In the command prompt type wsreset and press return. After executing the command, the App store will come up and you should be able to run apps again.

Check the system files

If the reset does not help, you have to check your system files.

Again open a command prompt with administrator rights.

Type sfc /scannow and press enter.

After the check completed, restart your computer to use the apps.
